My Therapeutic Approaches

Clinical Psychologists are trained in a wide range of therapeutic models, which means that I can tailor our work to suit your individual goals for therapy. I have further post qualification training in all of the approaches I use.

  • Close-up of overlapping dark green raspberry leaves with textured veins and serrated edges.

    Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

CFT is a particularly helpful approach for clients who experience high levels of shame and self-criticism, helping to reduce self-blame and cultivate a more positive relationship with yourself.

  • Sunlit woodland with large mature trees, textured trunks, leafy branches, and fallen autumn leaves covering the ground

    IFS (Internal Family Systems)

A type of therapy which helps people explore their different “parts” in order to heal internal conflict and process trauma. IFS can help you meet these internal voices with compassion, not shame.

  • Upward view of a lush green forest canopy with large tree trunks and sunlight filtering through the leaves

    EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is best known for treating PTSD but can also be used to alleviate other forms of distress. It can be particularly helpful for processing birth trauma.

  • Adult and children hiking along a forest trail in warm jackets

    Systemic Therapy

Whether working with an individual or couple, systemic therapy sees people as deeply interconnected and focuses on their relationship with others and wider networks, rather than looking at individuals in isolation.
