FAQs

  • I offer a free, no obligation 10 minute discovery call to all prospective clients. This gives us an opportunity to consider your needs and whether I am the best person to support you.

  • Therapy and coaching are similar in that neither option will give you the “answers” and both support you to make positive change, empower yourself and equip you with skills for the future. However, therapy involves working with distress and mental health difficulties, and will often look for the root cause of your difficulties, looking back into your early life experiences. Coaching is largely present and forward focused: it involves looking at the present to see what your objectives are for the future. It does not focus directly on relieving psychological difficulties. Coaching has a more structured format and is more likely to be time limited.

  • This will depend on your individual goals for therapy, and what you hope to achieve. We will also take into account the impact of your current difficulties on your quality of life, and how long your difficulties have been present for. We will have a clearer idea on number of sessions after our discovery call and initial appointment

  • In our first session we will look at what has brought you to therapy and set goals for what you would like to achieve during our work together. Future sessions will then be loosely focused on working towards these goals. The psychological approaches that I draw upon will depend on the nature of your difficulties. I would encourage you to put what we discuss into practice in between sessions, which will help you to achieve positive change more quickly. We will normally meet weekly, at a regular time.

  • Most coaching clients choose from a coaching package of either 6 or 8 sessions. We can discuss which package is right for you during our discovery call. In our first session we will establish where you are now, where you want to get to and an inspirational goal that encapsulates where you would like to be at a fixed time in the future. We then use following sessions to identify milestones and action points that you can work towards, and problem solve any barriers which arise.

As your coach I will walk alongside you on your journey and support you to bring out the best in yourself. I won’t advise or tell you what to do. Coaching is about empowering you to find the answers, while I hold the framework for you to do this. I believe that you are naturally creative and resourceful and that it is my job to enhance the skills and resources that are inherent within you.

  • Yes, you have the option to meet on Teams or Zoom if this is preferable. If we are meeting online, you will need to find a private, quiet space in which to join our session.

  • You can cancel a session up to 48 working hours in advance and receive a full refund. Please see our terms and conditions for more details.

  • Please get in touch to discuss fees. All fees are payable in advance of the session.

  • I would encourage you as much as possible not to bring your baby to our sessions. This is because therapy and coaching is a space dedicated to you and your needs. However, sometimes life gets in the way of our plans and if childcare falls through then you are welcome to bring your baby to the session.
